A Video Glimpse of the Revitalization Progress
One of the biggest assets Blackstone has is its people. This little town seems to have the "perfect storm" of concerned citizens with the wherewithal and desire to make it a great place to live, invest, and work. Dawn Dickson Van Ness is one such individual who just strolled into my office one day and told me she was a student at VCU doing a project for her coursework. She had already done a video at the nearby Blackstone Coffee & Bistro and she had ideas and the technical know-how to produce a clip of our work downtown. I was elated to say the least! Later I found out that she lives on Brunswick Avenue which is the same street that I live on! Some might call this a coincidence but I just call it a blessing! I know you will enjoy this video clip that Dawn put together. It really gives a flavor of what Blackstone has to offer as well as a glimpse of the progress we have made early in our efforts to revitalize downtown. Enjoy!
Dawn has since agreed to intern with DBi and help produce video clips of our local retailers and business owners as well as film some of our local events beginning with the next cruise-in! We couldn't be happier about this turn of events!
