Perhaps it is a coincidence that the local high school mascot is the cougar and there have been so many reported cougar sightings in the Blackstone area in the last year or so. Now you can actually spot the Cougar at a business downtown and earn a $25 gift certificate for your efforts. The DBi cougar is harmless and just might show up at your favorite downtown business any day now. Thanks to Benchmark Bank who donated $200, DBi will be able to award a winner for 8 weeks. In fact, the first winner has already been selected.
Look at that gorgeous cat! Tammy Knott, who lives in Farmville was shopping at Watkins Jewelers last week and spotted the elegant cougar. She filled out the necessary form and became our first winner. Polly and the staff at Watkins staged the cougar with a tierra, pearl neclace, earrings, bracelet, and a butterfly on its tail. They really got into making the cougar a decked out Watkins Jewelers cool cat! The next time you are in a store downtown, be alert because if you spot the cougar, you could be our next winner.
Our second winner was Christine Wilson, a student at UVA who spotted the Cougar at the Blackstone Consignment shop. The Cougar is picture above at his third location just waiting for you to spot him!
